No one can truly know the stresses that pressed upon the apostles after Jesus’ death. We cannot judge Thomas for his insistence that he would not believe unless his human senses could register the reality of the resurrection.
I ask myself, “How would I feel if Jesus stood before me?” I tried to capture that look in Jesus’ eyes as he looked into Thomas and said, “Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen and yet have believed.”
